Whenever I try to download any file, IE first asks me if I want to run it from its current location, or if I want to save it. But whichever option I choose is always followed by an alert telling me that my current security settings do not allows for the file to be downloaded.
This means that I have to manually add each site that I'm trying to download something from to my "trusted sites".

Is there a way I can allow file downloads by default? I wasn't able to find that option in the IE config sadly

Coming at this from full IE's config, do you have Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones under HKLM or HKCU?

This doesn’t help if you’re on x86 but if you’re on the other CPUs you could always copy and paste the url into this program to download it.
